Auburn Coach Hugh Freeze Addresses Michael Oher's Lawsuit Against Tuohy Family

Former Head Coach Shares Perspective on Public Dispute

Freeze: 'I Love Michael and the Tuohys'

Auburn head football coach Hugh Freeze expressed his affection for both Michael Oher and the Tuohy family while addressing the ongoing legal dispute between them. Freeze, who was Oher's head coach at Briarcrest Christian School in Memphis and served as an assistant at the time of Oher's recruitment, said he believes the truth will eventually come to light.

"I love Michael Oher and I love the Tuohy family," Freeze said Thursday. "I've been blessed to know them both and I'm praying for them during this difficult time. I believe the facts will come out and the truth will prevail."

Oher, who was the subject of the 2009 film "The Blind Side," is suing the Tuohy family for allegedly exploiting him and mismanaging his finances. The Tuohy family has denied the allegations and said they acted in Oher's best interests.

Freeze, who is entering his second season as Auburn's head coach, said he hopes the dispute can be resolved amicably.

"My heart breaks for both Michael and the Tuohys," Freeze said. "They're all good people and I'm hoping they can find a way to work through this and come out stronger on the other side."
